1. Step one: Create an AWS S3 Bucket and allow Billing and Cost Management to write files to the bucket.


A. Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon S3 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/s3/.


B. Click Create Bucket. In the Create Bucket dialog box, in the Bucket Name box, type a name for your bucket. 


C. In the Region box, click the region where you want the bucket to reside:




D. If you clicked Set Up Logging in the Create a Bucket - Set Up Logging dialog box, select the bucket where you want the log files stored and specify a prefix for the name of the log files. Click Create.



2. Step two:  Turn on detailed billing reports. 


A. Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Billing and Cost Management console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home#/.


B. Click the Preferences link in the navigation pane on the left.


C. Check the Receive Billing Reports checkbox and designate the Amazon S3 bucket where you want AWS to publish your detailed billing reports. Click Save preferences.





Note:
It can take up to 24 hours for AWS to start delivering detailed billing report files to your Amazon S3 bucket. After delivery starts, AWS delivers new files multiple times per day.
